Laura Leff has done a superb job in compiling this show-by-show account of Jack Benny's early radio career...every single show, with every guest artist, the first occurrences of catch-phrases, the gradual development of the best-loved characters in radio history--it's all here in wonderful detail. I'm waiting eagerly for Volume II!
