Another Informative Book by the Ultimate Expert Jan 29, 2009
By Laura A. Henrich James T. Hammond does it again!!! As a follow-up to his "English Shepherd Guide", his "Retirement Rescue" book is a gem; informative, narrative, and with an often light-hearted, comical touch from his years and experiences of breeding his English Shepherds. For those who "haven't buried enough bones" (LOVE the sub-title!), it guides the reader with offering knowledgeable advice and insight for enjoying an extra income during their "golden years" while working and spending time with their favorite canine companions. And the best part is that a dog lover doesn't even have to wait for retirement to apply Jim's principles for a successful dog breeding career, whether full-time or part-time, with any type of dog breed. Great work, Jim!!

A very informative and detailed guideline for one who wishes to breed dogs. I especially like the author's upfront concern that this book is only for the "responsible" breeder. Thanks!

Comprehensive guide Jan 29, 2009
By John R. Silvers It's clear that the author loves his dogs and he has written a great "How To Do It" book. It is very detailed and covers all aspects a potential dog breeder might encounter. Although not vital, it would have been helpful if a checklist was included, referenced to the detail of each point he makes. I believe this book is a vital consideration for anyone needing some extra cash and above all, like the author, loves dogs.
