A Gay Alcoholic Rocket Scientist

This is the story of my life, with all its disappointments, tragedies, gifts, and experiences. I see my life with gratitude for every person, place, thing, or situation that happened in my 73 years. I'm a real rocket scientist. I'm a real alcoholic. I'm a real grateful member of a twelve-step program. And, I'm gay. I guess that makes me your token gay, alcoholic, rocket scientist. All these things define Who Jack Is. If you are expecting a treatise on rocket propulsion, you will be disappointed because as it says in my title, I am going to talk about the triad of my life: gay, alcoholic, and rocket engineer. I will briefly discuss basic technical principles where I feel it is appropriate. I also express opinions. I will talk about my childhood, my college experiences, and my career journey starting as a laboratory assistant, early semiconductors development, development engineer on missile rocket engine programs, and ultimately proposal development. And finally retirement.
