A much needed message. Feb 21, 2009
By E. Linder Jesse Penn-Lewis moved throughout her Christian life in the realm of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She felt that the Christian life was God's way, sent to people as a gift to help them enjoy life on earth. Her fortitude, attitude, and total trust in God enabled her to carry the Lord's word to people around the world. This book contains a well written message that is as much needed today as it was during Jesse Penn-Lewis' lifetime.
New Revised Version Feb 01, 2009
By Sentinel Jessie Penn-Lewis was truly a remarkable woman. She developed the most intimate of relationships with God. The depth of her walk was borne out through the insights she shared; which drew the attention of men who were recognized as the spiritual giants of her day. As a result she became acquainted, if not good friends, with many of them. Among them were names like Oswald Chambers, Andrew Murray, R. A. Torrey, A. B. Simpson, D. M. Stearns, F. B. Meyers, as well as others. Her insights were also considered to be of great value to another generation, which included men like Watchman Nee and T. Austin-Sparks.
The original biography was published under the title, "Jessie Penn-Lewis: A Memoir." And I am pleased to offer this new version, which has been updated to modern English, under the title, "A Woman Who Laughed: Jessie Penn-Lewis."
