Avedis by Rouben Cholakian Jul 23, 2008
By Deborah Campbell Rouben Cholakian has written a thinly disguised autobiography that touches on the highlights of his interesting life. Growing up in an Armenian family, he maintains the culture of his family while branching out into mainstream America through his marriage and career. Sensitive with an excellent sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself, he shares the highs and lows of his experiences in the U.S. and in France. The reader feels his joy in life as well as his deep sorrow at the deaths of those he loves most. I finished the book wanting more stories about the life of this remarkable yet simple man. He succeeds in communicating not only the events of his life but the emotions he felt. I highly recommend this excellent book.
