A motivating read that many will enjoy Oct 09, 2009 It takes a long while to find out who one really is. "Advancing Backward" Is a memoir of mother Kellie Lynn Ketcham as she reflects on the path through her life and how she found what she really wanted out of life was something that she knew all along. Hoping to inspire readers to glance back when figuring out their future, "Advancing Backwards" is a motivating read that many will enjoy.
Real Life...A Must-Read Sep 21, 2009 This book is genuine. Not everyday do you pick up a book that can put you to tears and make you laugh about everyday situations and it be completely true not something fictional. This book is for those who believe that they are in the darkest of times and feel like they can't make it. It offers hope and inspiration and it's even for those who aren't in the darkest of times. Readers of all generations can pick up this book and feel like they can relate on any specific level, the author has it all. You feel as if she is speaking directly to you as she tells her story.
Enticing Jul 27, 2009 A very good read about a woman's trials and tribulations. Ms. Ketcham's writing is honest, loving, heartbreaking, funny and a lot more - all at the same time. Her style makes you feel like she is right there with you sharing life over a cup of coffee. It's to be enjoyed by both males and females. I would recommend it to teens as well as adults.
chunky stew Jul 15, 2009 I think as a reader, you pick up a book like you make a soup. You chose your direction and then you want to read the pages to find out if anything is starting to smell good. As I started Advancing Backwards, I realized that this is some good, warm soup. An average American woman can find the positive in so many of life's struggles. Read the book and you will know what I'm talking about. I found the book to have some tasty pieces.... and I call this some chunky stew!
Advancing Backward Jul 10, 2009 Once I started "Advancing Backward" I couldn't put it down. I supposed what appealed to me the most was that is was a "real story." It wasn't written by a movie star, a mom with multiple, multiples of children or a recovering addict of some sort. The story involves an everyday person living an everyday life, with her everyday parents, husband, children. This is a life I could relate too.
Kellie told the story with humor and a reality that connected with myself and my sister whom borrowed the book from me. She loved it too.
Overall, this book was a wonderful read and I will recommend it to anyone.
