AT LAST A LEARNED AND BALANCED AND TRUE BOOK ON ISLAM Oct 16, 2006
This book carefully describes the birth of Islam, its development and its growth worldwide. It gives a much truer perspective and report than so many of the hate-filled propaganda tracts which have hit the best-seller list lately. For a true picture of Islam please read this book.
If I may be forgiven a long quote from the author describing the Prophet Muhammed:
"I submit that if Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is being projected as the author of the Holy Quran, then these very people would also contend that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the one, the only and unquestionably the most knowledgeable and highly praiseworthy person ever known;
A Scientist: Because Quran describes, in full details, all the rotations and cycles of the Celestial Bodies and The Stars. Only in the very recent past the humanity is learning about this natural phenomenon in spite of the fact that it has been Revealed in the Holy Quran.
A Doctor: Because Quran explains and fully defines the conception, the formation and growth of the Fetus till birth. The modern Medical practitioners have realized about this Revelation only after the discovery of X-Rays and Echo Cardiograms within last few decades!
A Politician: Because Quran describes the ways of everyday individual and communal life and guides about the Social structure of all the humanity. All the time Emphasizing on the Essential reasons for the human Submissions to the Will of God.
It has been claimed that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) did not offer any thing new for the entire mankind, yet as a Humanitarian: Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a known illiterate person, drafted and concluded the first-ever-treaty, known as Hudaibah Treaty, between three nations to live in peace and harmony with each other without fearing any supremacy of one nation over the other. Thereafter quite a lot of treaties of unity or common existence have been made between various nations and countries. Does League of Nations, United Nations, EU, NATO, CENTO, SEATO, OAU, OAS amongst many more ring any bells in their knowledge? Also this fact should not be ignored that the famous "MAGNA CARTA" Charter is full of the principles of Hudaibah Treaty!
In a universal system and abhorred practices of revenge killings, which continue for generations and clans to follow, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) introduced and practiced the unique and merciful principles of General-Amnesty for the conquered people of Makah. Makah was captured without engaging in any war or causing any bloodshed. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also laid down the essential rules for the humanitarian treatments of the Prisoners of War. Modern Geneva Convention is an extension of those rules!"
I hope I do not quote the author Dr. Mehar, out of context, and I hope this gives a glimpse into the intersting facts presented in this remarkable book which has been well-received by every resident of Capital Hill. If only our international policy would be based upon it rather than the widespread killing we know indulge and the hatred we carefully cultivate at home in ourselves and abroad.
THis book is essential for overcoming our willing eager ignorance and for seeing the truth about this important and peaceful world wide phenomenon.
