Good detail, but repetitive Feb 21, 2009
By Peter J. Menadue The Aloha Flight 243 accident is an incredible story - a 737 that loses a substantial part of it's body in midair, but incredibly, the crew manages to get the plane down without any additional fatalities (one was killed in the air).
Henry Arii provides us with some interesting detail into why the accident happened - an unsound design and a high cycle airframe. The book describes the technical detail behind the design, and why it was unsatisfactory.
The book is a little repetitive however - it's as if additional chapters are written for the book without regards for what has gone before - it can be a little frustrating.
