5It's a page turner...  May 11, 2007
By T. Steiner
The book starts in a predictable manner - A is for Apple style. As you progress through the alphabet, the rhyming becomes more creative and the fruits less familiar. I found myself becoming more and more curious at what the next page would bring. The pictures are fun and colorful. The rhyming is appealing and memorable. As I learned of fruits I'd never heard of before, I found myself thinking surely this Suessian author has invented such things, challenging me to actually do a little research to find out more - definitely rare from a children's alphabet book. The price seemed a bit high at first, but you get what you pay for on this one!

5Definitely unique  Apr 07, 2007
By Sharon & Bill
Bought this book to help my 5th grader with a report where part of her assignment was to name one fruit for each letter of the alphabet. Everyone else in the class listed "yellow watermelon" for the letter Y... not my girl! There's fruit in this book I never heard of before.
