Intelligent and Smooth Tropics-Based Novel Aug 01, 2008
By Rebecca Quick I really love a smooth-reading novel with chapters short enough not to hold me hostage for hours per chapter, easily moves from one segment to another, and develops characters easily and succinctly enough that I don't have to dig and dig through pages and pages before I "get" each of the characters.
This book is such a wonderful read. It's filled with characters that are authentically flawed yet filled with integrity and also those without any; the author managed to create visual imagery for me with such a clever economy of words that I knew I was reading a very skilled author.
Having just finished the book I am 100% positive that this particular story would make a PERFECT Lifetime TV or USA TV movie - no doubt about it. Read it and see if you don't agree with me. A very well done book, and I've read many and varied fiction authors over the past 50 years or so....

A beautiful book Apr 23, 2008

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "An Indulgent Choice" and besides paying hommage to S. Florida as someone wrote, it is so much more than that. It is well written and it is definitely a page turner. I wept at certain parts, I got mad at the author at a specific part and I chuckled to myself, knowingly, at times. It is a book that I will recommend to my friends. I cannot wait for the sequel.

In good company Apr 04, 2008

This book truly pays hommage to wonderful South Florida and a group of marvellous people who make you feel warm just like the place the story is set in. The novel is beautifully developed, in particular I loved the short chapters - if you have to lay it down, which is highly unlikely - you can easily come back to it. Believe me, you want to come back to the story as it is full of surprises, which are cleverly preluded when the author switches back and forth between past, present and future. You will also be intrigued by the creative use of language, which so marvellously adds to the whole atmosphere as well as brings all characters home, so you will always be in good company and feel a tremendous void once the reading ends. Absolutely loved it, highly recommed it - a must for all men and women living in (South) Florida and of course the rest of those of us who dream of warmer climates with warm characters. Can't wait for the sequel, also a must!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! From the beginning to the wonderful, unexpected ending, "An Indulgent Choice" held my attention. The characters were alive, the details of South Florida were fantastic and the story line was creative and surprising. A must read is my advise.

A Great Choice! Feb 28, 2008
By SophieSail My good friend recommended this book and I am so glad she did!! Could not put it down once I started! I've read hundreds of romance novels and this one stands on it's own! The caracters are alive, full of life and flawed like any of us. The Florida setting is a beautiful backdrop for the story and just gave it a very special feel I've never gotten from any other book I've read. The story just grabs you and you just want to hang on to the caracters once the book is done... I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a bit more out of a romance novel than the usual...
