Angels Don't Have Wings

Angels Don't Have Wings, by Beatriz Menoyo Malavenda, is a fictional story based on the author's own struggles with Body Dysmorphic Disorder, a common form of mental illness which causes those suffering from it to have a distorted view of a specific part of their bodies, usually the skin, hair, or nose. Through the eyes of Aeriel, as well as those of her mother and brother, we learn the tragic nature of this disease, and the difficulties loved ones often have in recognizing, coping with, and treating it.
