Inspirational!!! May 28, 2009
By S. Gibson I must admit, I originally bought this book because I know the author and wanted to be supportive. But wow! Was I ever surprised! While reading it I realized this book is good - actually better than good. It offers valuable information, humor, and inspiration. What can be better than that?? Sure we all know the standard symptoms of a stroke (someone who can't smile or hold their arms above their head) but I NEVER heard the others mentioned in this book. Making your way back from something so devastating has to be frustrating and difficult, but Phil does it with courage (after all he was an Army Ranger), humor, and the love and support of his family and faith. He not only inspires us, and anyone facing a challenge, but he manages to make us laugh in spite of the seriousness of the subject. Bravo Phil. I'm looking forward to a sequel.

Faith, Family And Friends Sep 08, 2009
By K. Kihlman I really found this book to be not only informative, but also a true testament to Phil's faith and how powerful it truly is. I believe he wouldn't be here today without his faith in God, the love of his family and his many friends. Sometimes doctors don't have a lot to do with it. It is a story of not only love and faith, but never giving up. This is so well written; I could feel it. I loved the book. The best to you and your family Phil.

Inspiring! Jun 09, 2009
By J. Mcclellan I wasn't sure what to expect when I read this book. A friend of the author suggested I read it and I was somewhat apprehensive, but I picked it up, started reading and couldn't put it down until I was finished. This book is poignant, humorous, inspirational, educational and I would guess, very therapeutic for the author.
Under the category of "life isn't fair" he came through this ordeal fighting and making a whole lot of lemonade out of a whole lot of lemons. His courage and faith are infectious and his insights to health care and insurance are a valuable lesson to all.
God bless his wife, children and all his extended family and close friends for bestowing their healing power of love and faith on him.

An inspiration! May 27, 2009
By Reverse Falcon Music If you are looking for a cold, factual book written from a doctors perspective, this book is not for you. But if you or someone you love has suffered a stroke (or any debilitating illness /injury)and you need inspiration to draw upon, then this book is a must!
Cleverly written, this book demonstrates how humor, a loving family, and unwavering faith can help you overcome any worst-case-scenario.
Am I ready?????? Apr 22, 2010
By Stargazr Well, now that I've read Phil's book, I'm certainly more ready than I was before I read it. Wonderfully written with an attitude of gratitude and only the words needed to tell the story in full and yet from every pertinent viewpoint, Hanaburgh's recount of his stroke at 50 years old is what I call a perfect book.
It's short and to the point, but misses nothing the reader needs to know about what happened. And it pulls no punches when it comes to what he and his loving wife and family learned the hard way.
Will this book save lives? No question! Will it save souls for Christ? Undoubtedly! Was it divinely inspired? Oh, yes! Will it give all readers hope for a better day, no matter what their struggle may be? Definitely!
Buy it, read it, share it and believe it. We all need to put our houses in order as best we can financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually and then let go and let God and enjoy our lives come what may...Hanaburgh's book demonstrates that God does just as Paul promises in Romans 8:28
"All things work for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."
Phil and Paola are living proof of just that and the book tells precisely how God has blessed them through even such a tragic turn of events.
