Keep them coming ! ! ! ! ! ! May 06, 2009
By Nicholas Whitaker
"Nick Whitaker"
I am so glad that this series was recommended to me! I have loved every minute of this story to the fullest and I have lost sleep on several occasions to stay up late and read a few more chapters and later drift off to sleep thinking about the adventures Alec has experienced in his journey so far. I look forward to the next book to be released and hope that more people get the chance to experience this incredible tale.

One book, then another, and soon it's a series May 08, 2009
By Alicia Harding This book carries on the story of Alec, the orphan healer, and transports him to a new city, Oyster Bay, where he tries to take lessons in ingenairii (magical) powers, as well as deal with jealous personalities, plus he works hard to improve his swordsmanship - all while the politics of the land twist around him. The book touches on many topics, but manages to keep Alec as the central figure, which makes it much easier to read with that continuity. The writing is crisp, with a nice flow - I was able to whip through page after page as I followed the plot through a number of adventures and twists. It is a really good book!

Perfect sequel to a great first book Apr 22, 2009
By Mark Brown Just as soon as a reader puts the first book (Visions of Power) down, they can pick up this book and continue to enjoy following the adventures of Alec as he seems to grow up before our eyes. In this book the teenage Alec has to overcome the disgrace of being forced out of Goldenfields, and coming to the powerful city of Oyster Bay. He starts out at a big disadvantage among all the ingenairii who have special powers, and who use them to abuse Alec. But Alec shows strength of chararcter as he goes through a series of challenging events. The writing is still just as smooth and creates a new set of locations and situations and new characters that are enjoyable to learn about. Alec also starts to deal with more of that teenage boy consideration of girls, and his struggles in that area help to flesh out his story even more. The battle scene and combat are also a nice addition to the story without being excessively gory.

An excellent sequel! Mar 02, 2009
By Monica Grigsby This book picks up just where the first one leaves off - with Alec on his way to Oyster Bay. The new characters introduced in this book are just as likable and interesting as those we met in Visions of Power. Once I started reading this book, I had to keep turning the pages to see what happens next! I am looking forward to the release of the 3rd book in the series!!

Another winner from Jeff Quyle May 12, 2009
By JSC Jeffrey Quyle has quickly learned the secret of the successful writer: create a story that is so enjoyable to read that it is a disappointment to finish. Or as they say in Hollywood, "Always leave `em wanting more." This volume has an exciting plot line and excellent characters. It also has a sense of the upbeat that is welcome in a world full of bad news. I am greatly looking forward to the next installment.
