A Gem in Your Pocket May 16, 2009

I happened upon Attitudes of Flight by H. G. Brown and now can't seem to go anywhere without this gem in my pocket.
The poems are highly structured but often give the feel of free verse- of flight. I don't know how the author creates that effect and I probably don't care.
I know they are inspired, deep and filled with crackling images that are never worn to the ear or to the imagination.
I highly recommend this book of poems.

There is a beautiful, thought provoking interplay of words throughout all of these poems and I would love to have a conversation with this author to explore these words yet more. The conjured imagery lingers and begs for yet another reading to see it all more fully. A book to always have in your library.
