A thought provoking book Nov 25, 2009
By Monika R. Watkins I really enjoyed this book. While I have been blessed with a wonderfully supportive husband, it still gave me a lot of food for thought. I felt like I was sitting down listening to JayVon speaking directly to me. I cant wait to read the next book.

After reading Baby Mamas I feel like this book is a true blessing and a wonderful guide in getting education and truth on the epidemic that is going on and continuing to go full circle. Do we want this to go on and on, generation after generation? Our daughters and sons deserve to know the truth. They need an insight into the future. This book lets them see that making some demands and setting boundaries in their lives is the only way that they will find peace and that is with their truths. This book is that insight. Healing starts with awareness. This is a must read for all daughters and mothers.

Ms. Muhammad has captured the essence of "Baby Mamas" and the dilemmas that many young women go through. This book is an outstanding guide for mothers, teachers, counselors, guardians etc. It captures the reality of life which in turn young women can relate to. The book is the beginning of social change which will heal our communities. I have recommended this book to my family, friends, colleagues etc; a wonderful addition to my library! Thank you Ms. Muhammad for making a change in our communities!

I found this book to be well written and to the point. It addresses head-on the cause and consequences of an entire generation of women who have been told and believed that they can have children/family without the benefit of a man/husband, and what it has done to our community...
What has happened to our culture? We live in a time, where being a single, unwed mother has become acceptable and even celebrated. This must stop!
This is a fantastic book. It is quick and easy to read and is excellent to be used as a tool/resource to begin the discussion with our families, in the churches, our schools, book clubs and women's `groups. It is my desire that this will a spark a movement for us to take back our families!
Fantastic Book !!!!!!!! Sep 12, 2009

I would recommend this book to all young women who are in any kind of relationship...and some older women too.
