Barbara: A Novel of First-Time Intimate Sexual Adventure

Sexual intimacy explicitly portrayed through endearing relationships among adolescents and young adults as they experience the rewards and pitfalls of newly discovered emotions and desires. Graphically descriptive, the novel offers young lovers a wealth of insight into the often forbidden world of lovemaking. The story follows a talented and sexually curious Rock musician from puberty through adulthood, as he learns the hard lessons of life and love from a cast of endearing female characters. "Barbara is a no-holds-barred novel that, for young folks, could almost stand as a textbook of the unexpected highs and lows of early sexual experimentation. For us oldsters, it rekindles memories of our youth when rules were thrown out the (car) window in favor of that first taste of love in all its screwy, emotionally wrenching aspects. Fun to read, Barbara offers a sip of clear cool water in a world dominated by stagnant literary fiction." Hack Taylor, Book Review Editor, WM Publishing.

5The Search for Lost Innocence  Mar 31, 2008
By Burt Kempner
"Barbara" is a joy. Sometimes lusty, sometimes lyrical, it's one rollicking read. Our hero is forever panting, and often repenting, in search of innocence and true love, with many a humorous or disastrous detour. Author LeBeaux does an excellent job of bringing his protagonist to life, complete with all the fumblings of adolescence and the hard-won wisdom that only age and experience can bring. Heartily recommended.

5Life comes at you fast  Apr 01, 2008
By Elaine Smith
When you're young is when you learn the most. When you're older is when you understand what it is that you learned. BARBARA takes this bit of wisdom and runs with it. The lusty, sometimes bawdy, always sensitive book is a trip back in time. The author shows clearly through his protagonist the confusions and gut-wrenching traumas of growing up. If you think you know anything about the opposite sex, or about sex, you very well might, but I guarantee you'll know more after reading BARBARA. Get it. Read it. Enjoy!

5More than a coming of age novel  Sep 30, 2009
By Martha J. Armstrong
No reader who grew up in the 60's should miss this book.

From the physicalBarbara: A Novel of First-Time Intimate Sexual Adventure details, to the threads of truth which

are sewn throughout its fabric, it is a joy to read and a work

of love.

This is more than just a coming-of-age novel.

These words seem to speak from the mind of a true seeker.

5Better Than Viagra  Feb 25, 2011
By David Harbaugh "David Harbaugh"
If you want something other than Viagra to heat up your sex life, hand your wife or girlfriend a copy of this book. My wife and I (both "mature" adults) read it, and suddenly found ourselves doing things we hadn't done in years (and a few we'd never even thought of). Not to belittle the story itself, which seemed so real it struck me as being more autobiographical than pure fiction, but this novel beats out just about every source of amorous stimulation we've ever found.

5A Surprising Sleeper  Feb 23, 2010
By Lune C (otherwise known as lunatic) "lune c"
This book will totally surprise you. I was an extreme skeptic, but bought it on the basis of the other reviews. I got my moneys worth in a way I never expected. I congradulate this author, he brought every character in this tale to life.

I would certainly recommend this book to men as well as women, and any mature teen should read it as well.
