More than a coming of age novel Sep 30, 2009 No reader who grew up in the 60's should miss this book.
From the physicalBarbara: A Novel of First-Time Intimate Sexual Adventure details, to the threads of truth which
are sewn throughout its fabric, it is a joy to read and a work
of love.
This is more than just a coming-of-age novel.
These words seem to speak from the mind of a true seeker.

Most Impressing Apr 04, 2008 An excellent read for mature readers. It gives great insight into the task of growing into sexual beings." Barbara " successfully blends both the beauty and humor of budding sexual attraction amoung the young. Progressive parents may wish their older teens to read it. I look forward to much more from this author R.LeBeaux

Been there, done that, still miss it Apr 01, 2008 Ah, the good old days. I remember growing up on Florida's beaches with friends I knew I would keep forever -- and a few I did. I remember the sheer excitement of being young and alive, and BARBARA captures that, as well as the innocent questioning, and sometimes the sheer pain, of the search for answers. If we knew then what we know now -- well, we'd have missed a lot. Revisit the days when hormones -- and deep emotion -- seemed to rule the world. And this is the author's first novel? Whatever will he do next? Keep an eye out for R. LeBeaux. I have a feeling we'll be seeing that name a lot more. Great read.

Life comes at you fast Apr 01, 2008 When you're young is when you learn the most. When you're older is when you understand what it is that you learned. BARBARA takes this bit of wisdom and runs with it. The lusty, sometimes bawdy, always sensitive book is a trip back in time. The author shows clearly through his protagonist the confusions and gut-wrenching traumas of growing up. If you think you know anything about the opposite sex, or about sex, you very well might, but I guarantee you'll know more after reading BARBARA. Get it. Read it. Enjoy!

The Search for Lost Innocence Mar 31, 2008 "Barbara" is a joy. Sometimes lusty, sometimes lyrical, it's one rollicking read. Our hero is forever panting, and often repenting, in search of innocence and true love, with many a humorous or disastrous detour. Author LeBeaux does an excellent job of bringing his protagonist to life, complete with all the fumblings of adolescence and the hard-won wisdom that only age and experience can bring. Heartily recommended.
