Love it! Mar 19, 2008 This is the first book I've purchased of Lexy's and I loved it! Good to know I'm not the only "freak" in this world!

I will be removing this book from my wish list, PRONTO! Mar 09, 2008 I went on Lexy Harper's website to read "Brown Sugar", her free story from Bedtime Stories for Men. I was very offended by her depiction of this girl's ethnicity, her crude speech, her shallow feelings. I suppose some think she's writing "realistically" but that's the same defense rapper's use for their disrespectful and mysogynistic lyrics. Working class immigrants can understand their world, their sexuality and themselves with some complexity, nuance and grace.
I am a 40+ black woman, and I read/buy plenty of erotica/eroplotica (Alien Overnight, Tempted,Blackmailed,Beauty's Punishment, Guilty Pleasures, Enchanted) but this was just trash. I mean, you may as well buy True Story or Jive magazine, which are cheaper, but have the same caliber of writing and emotions depicted. I had to give it one star for my review to be accepted, but it is a "no star" read in my book. Off my wish list it goes!

Waste of money! Aug 13, 2007 This book was the most poorly written, poorly edited book I have read in a long time - maybe forever! This author should read a few REAL erotica authors, like Emma Holly and Lora Leigh.
This book was such a disappointment and such a WASTE OF MONEY!. I love erotica. However, this was just trash. I could only read about 1/2 of the book. Then I threw it away! I would never give this book to someone. I would be insulting their intelligence. For those who thought this book was good - do yourself a favor and read some Emma Holly or Lora Leigh and find out what erotic fantasies are really about!

Not thrilled Jul 31, 2007 This just isn't a book I could get into. The prose is littered with italics for emphasis and I found that very annoying. Also Harper's personal commentary at the ends of the stories was annoying, too.
This IS erotica, but there's MUCH better stuff out there. I recommend any of the "Best Women's Erotica" books or anything by Pretty Things Press over this drivel.
