Behold the Eye: Braumaru

Behold the Eye: Braumaru is the first book in the fantasy trilogy in which two distinct worlds become intertwined by dreams, shadows, ghosts, and magical gifts. As several different stories are weaved into one, diary entries from an ancient text allow the reader to discover how the past affects the present. The main characters include Micah, a teen boy from another world; a 6th grader named Vickie who simply wants to have fun with her friends; and Roland, an unscrupulous janitor who will stop at nothing to get what he believes he deserves.

5Enjoyable adventure  Mar 29, 2008
By Patti Lynch
Behold the Eye: Braumaru is a delightful and wholesome adventure! The story is filled with fun and suspense. The characters will remind you of friends you have known. The thoughts and language are delightfully typical of young teens. When I set this book down at night, I thought about what might happen next....I looked forward to my next chance to continue my reading. This, to me, is one sign of a well written book. This book is written for children, but I (an adult) enjoyed every minute of it. I cannot wait to read the next book! I would highly recommend this book.

5Summary  Mar 18, 2008
By Veronica R. Tabares "Author"
Micah, who lives in a world adjacent to our own, has just celebrated his Rite of Passage to become a man. But in truth, Micah knows adulthood will only begin when his birth gift reveals itself. So until then, he waits. And dreams.

Vickie is a normal 6th grade girl who is looking for something exciting to do. Something like...like...writing a book! But Vickie resolves that it won't be one of those boring books you can find on any bookshelf, it will be a sure-fire bestseller, full of real-life ghostly, shivery, unexplainable things.

Vickie's search for ghosts opens her eyes to the mysteries around her and brings her to the attention of an unscrupulous janitor who is on a quest for power. Power he can get if he succeeds in traveling through the baffling, mysterious, and dangerous land of dreams to Micah's world.

Braumaru is the first book in the Behold the Eye fantasy trilogy.

5My Dream book...literally  May 16, 2008
By J. Wetter
I am positive that most of us have awakened one morning wishing that the dream we had the night before was real, or that you could go back to a place you had visited in a dream. Maybe you can, you just haven't tapped into that untrained ability... Behold the Eye: Braumaru, by Veronica Tabares, is the first book I have read that is based on dream travel, and I certainly recommend it as a great read. With the main character a sixth grade girl, I would place the target audience as 4th through 8th graders. However, it is really for anyone who's dreamed of dream travel, or enjoys fiction with a captivating plot. I, a collegiate male, can prove that for I am waiting impatiently for books two and three to be released. Make sure you add this book (and the next two) to your library, whether public, private, or personal.

5Behold the Eye: Braumaru is a real page turner!  Mar 24, 2008
By educated_mom "educated_mom"
Two distinctly different lives and stories play out in the book. As the story progresses, you can't help but continue to turn the pages. When will Micah discover his gift? Why is Vickie the only one in the group of girls who notices strange details around them? Will her friends think she is crazy? Read this wonderful book to find out. Behold the Eye: Braumaru is guaranteed to leave you asking for more!

5Very interesting, hard to put down!!!  Mar 27, 2008
By Dena Martin "Denatkd"
This book has everything to keep the reader interested, mystery, suspense, and great characters. It is always great to find a book that will keep your interest and make you want to read more. This is a book for children, but adults will enjoy it also. The writer is able to help the reader remember their childhood, where you are only limited by your imagination.

I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens to Vicki, Shanti, and Micah in the land of Braumaru.
