School teacher Cheryl Pennington didn’t know why certain things were happening to her: seeing acquaintances that weren’t there, talking all night without stopping, unable to sleep, inexplicably crying or laughing, paranoid about being stalked, and at times feeling completely invincible. When her husband, Doug, realizes these behaviors are not normal, she is consequently admitted to Pleasant Meadows—Dallas’ finest psychiatric hospital. She is guaranteed the best treatment by its administrator and chief psychoanalyst, Dr. Albert Flint. But Flint isn’t who he claims to be as he has other motives. Cheryl soon experiences his “finest treatments,” which are suspect at best and deadly at worst. Unbeknownst to Cheryl, Flint knows that only she possesses the one trait he needs for his nefarious plan to work, which will ultimately make him rich and revered. Meanwhile, Doug, along with PI Zolton Myers, must unravel Flint’s scheme before Cheryl becomes his third unwitting victim.
