Bell Witch the movie

More than a century has passed since the Bell Witch tormented his family. Fearing Kate's return, Jake Bell fled to the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee with his daughter, Mary Jane. However, spirits know no boundaries. As Katherine, the school marm, spins her tale, terror returns to the Bell family. Dr. Robert Maughon crafts a fun read by wrapping the screenplay for BELL WITCH: The Movie inside a suspenseful tale set in the 1930s and 40s while his rich characters and intriguing storylines perfectly weave the legend of the Bell Witch haunting throughout time. THE LEGEND The Bell Witch is based on historical facts and documents recorded and retold by such figures as former President Andrew Jackson and supported by the State of Tennessee. ADDED BONUS This 250+ page novel contains 35 full-page images from BELL WITCH: The Movie as well as a brief biography, photos and full-page headshot of BELL WITCH: The Movie star Betsy Palmer.

1Boring!  Oct 01, 2007

There are many books and another movie on the Bell Witch. I suggest trying any of those before watching this, a real snoozer!

4Entertaining Ghost "story"  Jan 04, 2007
By Peter E. McGovern "Cavanman"
Having watched the movie "An American Haunting", I decided to read a bit more about this "Bell Witch" and happened upon this book.

I read it in a few days, which is an achievement for me. The book itself was fairly well written and the story itself was entertaining. The book is based on the legend of the "Bell Witch" in Tennessee, USA. But the author weaves the legend into a fictional story (or maybe it was the way I read it).

I will definitely go to see the movie, if the makers ever find a distributor who will release it.

Although enjoyable, I was looking for a more factual account of the "going-on" on the Bell Farm and for anyone of the same mind, look for "The Bell Witch - The Full Account" by Pat Fitzhugh.

Fro anyone just looking for a good read and a bit of excapism through a good story, go ahead, buy this book. You won't be overwhelmed, but you definitely won't be disappointed.
