I found that there more ideas out there then I could've imagined! They are simple and affordable ways to teach your own children how to earn their own money. With the way todays kid grow up it is nice to know there are still ways to make them own up to something! Make them feel better about money, since they are the ones earning it! I think the book was put together wonderfully and alot of thought and charecter went into each section! Thank you!

Truly worth the money. Mar 25, 2009
By TKM33 The current state of our country's current economy clearly shows the need for children to learn about business and finances at a young age. This book helps them learn while they have fun, so they'll be learning without even knowing it.
As the father of 2 young children, I'm not exactly rich. My family's on a budget. We try to teach our children financial responsibility, among other things. But we can talk and talk and talk to our kids till we're blue in the face, but they just may not listen. That's why I recommend this book - it lets kids learn the lessons from hands-on experience.
Like I said, my family's on a budget, but I think this book is well worth the price. It'll help your kids learn valuable, life-long lessons. And if you're going to buy any book on this subject, I highly recommend that you buy this one. It's the best in its category.

Really great book! Mar 25, 2009

This book is actually useful. I was skeptical at first, but it truly is a great usable book. There are TONS of ideas that ANY child can do. It's especially great for fundraisers, or just for kids to earn some extra cash. It's great because the businesses listed are for anytime of the year and for kids of any age.
It's well-written and easy to understand. It tells you EVERYTHING you need for the businesses it lists. The information is relevant, accurate, up-to-date, and complete. This is by far the best book in its category.

BEST BOOK OUT THERE! Mar 11, 2009

Beyond the Traditional Lemonade Stand is a GREAT book! It is by far the best in it's category - much better than any of the others!
It really does tell you EVERYTHING you need. It explains every aspect of the business stands. It's very well written and well organized. It lists VERY detailed business stand plans, including everything you'll need to start one, what the business is all about, how old you should be to run the business, who your target customer are, various locations to have the business at, and what kids'll learn from it.
There's a very informative introduction on the benefits of how you can teach your kids creativity, responsibility, work ethic, even math and social skills and more by letting them run business stands.
The last section deals with guiding your children on what to do with the money they've earned. It's not pushy at all and doesn't force any of the author's opinions on you. Of course, if your kid had a fundraiser, the money'll go to charity.
In summary, this book is absolutely great, full of great and easy to use information, and is absolutely PERFECT for parents, teachers, scout leaders, coaches, grandparents, and other people interested in letting their children earn some cash or host a fundraiser while learning sooooo much from doing it!

this book addresses parents teaching kids Oct 10, 2009
By A. Garelick Before I purchased this book for my son, 11, I would have wanted to know that the book is geared toward parents. I gave the book to my son and he still learned a lot from it, but he thougtht the "benefits" of the businesses were pretty silly - like if a child opens a water bottle stand they will benefit from seeing others drink water. I agree. Also, my son said there was not enough discussion of the actual running of the business - marketing, and concepts like fixed and variable cost. Loads of ideas on types of stands, but my son was disappointed.
