Bias Is Beautiful

In our world today, a scarcity of fossil fuels and drinking water is becoming increasingly evident. “Global warming” is now part of our everyday vocabulary. People are living longer with fewer young people to support them. Job creation has not kept pace with population growth. Because of technological developments, more and more people are jobless. Violence is our next-door neighbor, wherever we live. We are at war with our planet and with ourselves. The twenty-first century seems to be a century where haves and have-nots, young and old, and humans and the rest of the earth will have to find ways to coexist peacefully. The key to solving most of our problems is to change our approach to these problems. It is a fact that we are all, by nature, biased. People tend to think of themselves as either the center of the world or part of the herd. The roots of bias lie within our biology and in the distinction between self and non-self. Equipped with a clear understanding of bias, we can begin making a decisive change. Bias, which forms the basis of our everyday existence amid the “rat-race,” when understood better by more people, could cease to be a threat and almost become a cause for entertainment.

5I am biased toward this book!  Oct 11, 2010
By Okumayazma
This is a book written with great enthusiasm about bias, evolution and increasing population of our planet earth. The writer also gives us a personal testimony of his life and his concerns with humor but he is deadly serious about the consequences of his analysis. I enjoyed it and learned that bias is here to stay. We better learn to live with it but little less of us populating this earth will help.

Bias is Beautiful is a book that must be read by intelligent people, if you are not intelligent forget it.

5Pleasantly Surprised  Sep 25, 2007
By Ella Rice
A journey that tells us how humans have developed, evolved and arrived at our current situation, facing the affecs of global warming and how to deal with it. Very informative and surprisingly pleasant. A very serious subject with a positive outlook. Although always thought provoking and informatve, Dr. Tolon has a very easy and comfortable manner about how he approaches this subject and he just pulls you in with his charm. I highly recommend this book.

This book is not just words, its a review of a life. You can just take it as a forest or you can stop in front of each and every tree.
Thanks to Mr Tolon, that he make us feel real.
