Outstanding Reference Work, but . . . . Jul 03, 2008
"Blackberry Pearl Made Simple" is an outstanding must-have reference book for owners of this increasingly indispensible and fun-to-use device. But therein lies what I consider to be the ONLY albeit MAJOR flaw with this tome. This is not a book that will generally be read cover to cover but will more often be looked upon as a reference tool to be accessed as the need, problem or question arises. Thus, the lack of a detailed -- or even limited -- index is a huge shortcoming. Yes, the Table of Contents does break things down nicely -- but as is usually the case such a Table does not come close to providing the specific references to details dontained in a comprehensive index. Many users may not find this to be as significant a drawback as I do. But aside from the lack of such an index I find this book to be an indispensible, easy-to-read primary source of Blackberry Pearl information -- much of which cannot be found anywhere else.

I have been a treo user for years, and finally got fed up with it, and switched over to a pearl. I was very hesitant at first because i always thought the bb was heard to use, learn. This book has been indispensible in describing everything you need to know to get comfortable with your new bb. I read the whole thing.

It's my "Blackberry Bible" Feb 13, 2008
This book has been nothing short of a miracle for me. The documentation that comes with the device or is available from the wireless provider is useless. All information that I could possibly need is included in this one easy-to-use and comprehensive resource. As a former Palm user for many years, the Blackberry Pearl took quite some getting used to. However, with this book, the learning curve was substantially minimized. I'd recommend this book to everyone - new and experienced users alike!

This book is so disorganized that it is impossible to find anything specific you want to know. The content is much less clear and much more superficial than the material on the standard website for the Blackberry Pearl. I was somewhat turned off by the "for Dummies" version because they begin by explaining the device is not something you want to eat; but I have ordered a copy in hope that it will explain something not found on the internet. Save your money. Use the Blackberry websites.

Information filled covers everything I needed Feb 12, 2008
I love my new Pearl and this book has helped me love it even more.
It has some great tips and tricks that will shock you.
I had no idea about ONE TOUCH short cuts and the explaination was easy enough for even me to understand.
I recommend this book to all BB Pearl users.
