Blindsided: Lessons From Job on Surviving Your Trauma

In Blindsided: Lessons from Job on surviving your trauma, author Alice E. Robertson offers healing words for those afflicted by the world's toughest struggles: those events that do not merely disrupt our lives, but those that, in her words, 'blindside' us. Relying on the Biblical story of Job for inspiration-and interweaving his story throughout-Robertson methodically addresses the universal problem of suffering with candor, clarity, and a remarkable understanding of both human nature and divine intent. With neatly organized chapters that read quickly despite their depth, the text still manages to cover more spiritual and psychological territory than a shelf-full of self-help books combined. Blindsided is a must-read for anyone confronting a personal problem of any magnitude, as well as for those who wish to help a loved one cope with trauma. And though Robertson's religious beliefs permeate the manuscript, this is a work whose truths apply to those of all creeds. Blindsided is sure to become a contemporary classic of this genre.
