A good read for parents and professionals working with children Jan 17, 2011
By Nancy A. Humphreys This book offers both parents and professionals who work with children and their families an approach that is hopefull while not papering over the complicated relationship between kids and their human environment. The author presents a generous theory of why things go wrong with kids and many useful examples for how to understand why this happens and what to do about it. Nobody is pathologized. Everyone in the dilemma is understood to be trying their best. It's a refreshing change from theories that paint either the child or the parents as pathological.
