McCarthy Impresses Yet Again Jan 01, 2010
By Stevie Oz
"Mystery Lover"
In the third installment, readers have the pleasure of following Sam and Alex on another exciting adventure. McCarthy's writing is full of romance, suspense, and intrigue, and this novel is no disappointment for followers of her work. By the third novel, the characters are more like close friends to the reader and every predicament and new scrape seems almost like something that could happen to them, not just the characters. The romance aspect gets kicked up a notch in this novel, which will certainly please many readers. Hopefully McCarthy will continue this trend in her next novels. As far as the mystery is concerned, it is a thoroughly exciting twist that will leave you wanting more.

What's going to happen next?!?!? Dec 31, 2009
By Taibangle Another page turner and third in the series. From the first book through to this one I've really enjoyed the character development not only for the lead character but for several other characters as well. This series offers suspense, off the wall humor, good storylines, and a few tears.

More Please!! Jan 04, 2010

"Romantic at Heart"
In this third installment Mercury picks up where Thunder left off. The best part is that this story continues in a logical manner. No red herrings coming out of left field to have you scratching your head about. Plus this installment is a lot longer than the first two - which means more time to spend with Alex and her friends. So I will leave you with this review - less spoilers - so you can decide if you want to follow along and be just as surprised as our heroine as the story unfolds. I will tell you one thing which isn't a spoiler but does have something to do with the storyline. The spirits Alex meets in New Mexico follow her back home. I will be looking forward to the fourth installment, but it's going to be a long year.
Neither "Mercury" nor McCarthy are in Retrograde . . . Jan 16, 2012
By B. King The 3rd installment of McCarthy's "Alex Whitney" series is as good as, if not better than the first two. While book one and two had some dialogue problems, the editing done in this book has helped to smooth it out. The book is longer than the other two, which gives the author the ability to create a more indepth story. The mystery aspect is still strong, the romance moves smoothly, and the author carries the suspense to the end. I look forward to reading the 4th book to see where it takes Alex and company.
