Dr. Choy is lucky indeed! Dec 21, 2009
By Edit Purple I have worked with Dr. Choy professionally, and his stories have always fascinated, amused, and entertained me. This wonderful memoire details his amazing experiences and inventions, such as the acupressure bracelet for motion sickness and lassr technologies and techniques for back surgery. The "luck" is to have been born with such a creative mind and spirit, which is well documented in this extraordinary book.

Having read this book I feel that I have missed many things in life and I am already in my 70s! The experiences of Dr. Choy are amazing and truly inspiring for any of us to try to accomplish more while we can, at any age. It is an ungoing lesson of how to surmount unexpected obstacles, how to live under huge stress, how to make the best of small things, how to stay innovative under duress, how to make friends even when they don't like you at the start, and how to appreciate all that comes your way. I am an author myself The Boat Bookand Nautical Terms & Abbreviations but boy do I wish I could write a book like this! A MUST read. Helene Gaillet de Neergaard

CHOY'S LUCK: Shanghai to New York, a Life of Inventions, Medicine, and Adventure.
An autobiography should keep you fascinated from the beginning to the end. This does just that. This book provides insight into China prior to WWII, Dr. Choy's struggles to be a doctor in the United States, his adventures as an accomplished sailor and skier, and more. It really takes you on a whirl wind tour. I highly recommend this for its historic elements and its entertaining stories. A true slice of life from a very accomplished individual.
