fun for those who haven't played bridge May 31, 2010

"just a young reader"
Hi I'm a 13-year-old who's never played bridge in her life, but I found this book to be a very fun read. The mystery was fun to try to solve; it wasn't to easy, but it didn't have too many complications. I think this is a very enjoyable children's book that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

"old bridge dude"
As a veteran, although not expert, tournement bridge player, I am always on the lookout for new fictional books about bridge. Even though this book is written for the younger folk, I thought I would take a chance. I am not disappointed. I can recognize all the characters and the setting with ease. It seems to me I read the entire book with a slight smile on my face, because most of the situations and people were so familiar. I think the mystery would be fun to tackle for younger readers as well. I recommend this to all, but expecially duplicate bridge players.
Tournament bridge from the caddy's viewpoint Jan 03, 2010
By Liz Saxon As a tournament duplicate bridge player myself, I have met caddies and directors and bridge players of all shapes, sizes, personalities, etc. This is a delightful mystery for young adults that bridge players of any type can give their children or grandchildren. MOST of today's generation of young people have no concept of what bridge is other than a card game that grownups get worked up about. The author is a tournament bridge player herself and has met many more caddies than I have, but all of her characters are real in the bridge world and the dialogue and plot move briskly along. I didn't figure out the bad guys until the end. I highly recommend this book for young adults, older adults and even casual friends or complete strangers. I intend to get it for two of my own grandchildren.
