Friendly and helpful Apr 02, 2009
By Domenico Fama' It had been really an excellent reading. Short, easy and really helpful for people that want to become "own career designer & owner". Everything in real life is matter of relationship (and chance of course). Here some very good point to become an effective player both in the career building relevant relationships and in chance detection and exploitation. Two specific remarks. First of all, I found the reading particularly interesting for people in countries (like mine) not so used to professional networking. Second, if for example you had been hardly affected regarding your job security, here you are able to receive the right solicitations, in my opinion, about how to escape from the first feeling of "injustice". This is a very humanly comprehensible reaction but something cannot stop us to newly have a positive vision on our possibility for a future.

Pat Meehan's Career of a Lifetime is a practical, common-sense approach to getting the career of your life. It's not just a manual for getting a job, but a series of steps that one takes before losing that job. Follow Pat's advice, and you'll get the job you've always wanted and entitled to.
Awesome book Jan 24, 2011
By Nancy English I bought this and read it, it is an awesome book. I also know the author and he is just as awesome. I have never met him but just know without meeting him he is awesome. If you are looking for a career no better book to read.

Pat makes an easy read of some very important information and takes the fear out of a career transition. Speaking from years of experience, this book helps the reader understand what personal accountability is all about when it comes to the job search. He provides some solid, practical advice and gives tips on how to best prepare yourself to explore your potential through self awareness, the value of networking and ultimately marketing yourself for success! I highly recommend this book for anyone going through a career transition or simply looking for work in any other capacity.
Relevant and Concise Apr 13, 2010
By J. Miller If you are a displaced worker who is unsure of what your next step should be I highly recommend this book. "Career of a Lifetime" is a small book that makes a big impact! Pat Meehan gets right to the heart of the matter, which is that you cannot look to anyone else but yourself if you are to have a successful career. Each person is accountable to themselves; we instinctively know that to be true and yet many of us try to lay that responsibility on others. This book offers insightful, and very practical advice that will give you the confidence boost you need in order to chart a new career path for yourself!
