Cedars Of Winterhaven: The Last Bermuda Cedar Christmas Tree on Earth
Cedars Of Winterhaven: The Last Bermuda Cedar Christmas Tree on Earth
Winterhaven, is a magical place in Bermuda where Cedar trees thrived and birds and insects played. Cedar sapling, Cedarliddle, alarms creatures living in Winterhaven by stating all he wants for Christmas is to be a Christmas Tree. In the 1940’s, when an accidentally imported blight kills the island’s Cedar forests, Winterhaven becomes refuge for homeless birds and insects. Cedarliddle grows exhausted as host tree and contracts the terminal disease. His best friends, Gladys, the snail, Jimmy Singer, the cicada bug, and Smelly, the green bug, joined by all the creatures in the glen, help to decorate their tree. They transform the little, dying tree into a wondrous Christmas Tree that is proclaimed by the Angels to be the most beautiful tree they had ever seen. They transport Cedarliddle to Heaven to become THE LAST BERMUDA CEDAR CHRISTMAS TREE ON EARTH. Beautifully illustrated, a sad, true story that brings home the delicacy of our planet and how all Mankind must seek to preserve it.
