5Great Reading  Apr 01, 2008
A great book...I was caught up with-in the first few pages.
One of those few books you don't want to end. Unusual
charactor development. I certainly could see it as a miniseries.

5Chasing a Dream  Mar 05, 2008
Absolutely loved this book. Felt like I knew the characters as the author made them come to life. Couldn't wait to see what happened to them from generation to generation. This epic saga begs to be made into a movie and/or a serial. I give it 5 stars.

4A pure pleasure  Feb 21, 2008
What a fun and easy read this book is. Wonderful to share the memory evoking locations and life journey with these interesting and well drawn characters. An engaging family saga with strong and resourceful women. When the family moves to Hollywood it is interesting to see the influence of this young and flourishing city from their not so famous perspective. It would make a great mini series.

5Character, character, character.  Jan 23, 2008
A friend of mine handed me this book five days ago saying "you will love the characters". She was right. It's rich in character development. I can see the movie already. Susan Sarandon should be contacting her agent for the rights.

The author manages to give these characters incredible life. The struggle for survival was insightful and the author really developed the story about five generations of strong women.
