5Memories of the Civil War  Feb 23, 2007
This book is a wonderful reminder of the difficult times people faced during the Civil War. The Poems and Articles, clipped from newspapers and beautiful etchings of the late 1800's take the reader back to that war-torn period.
I would highly recommend this for all readers, especially good for school libraries and students interested in the time period of The Civil War.

5Nice Job  Jan 19, 2007
This book is like wandering through your Grandma's attic, only without the cobwebs. It gives a nice glimpse into an era of our country's history that still echos today. There are nice poems and illustrations. The newspaper clippings are insightful. In reading about the Andersonville prison, I thought of our current politics and how little has changed.

Now for my confession: the author happens to be my mother.

Nice Job Mom.
