God bless Donna Strong for gifting us with this spiritual handbook. Mar 09, 2009
I just finished reading "Coming Home to Calm" and am taken back by the magnitude of spiritual understanding Donna Strong not only possesses, but is able to impart to the reader through the telling of her life stories with an exquisite, unique reflective style. I found myself rereading and underlining passages, knowing that this would not be my first read. Donna Strong transparently shows us her heart and soul as she tells her personal story of divorce and how she and her partner were able to lovingly honor each other in the parting. Not an easy task, but a model nonetheless of how it can be done. She bravely reveals to us in detail how she battled for her life through illness and returned victorious. She brings hope that we can all come through any life challenge using a dedicated combination of conscious living and faith in God lighting the way. Listed throughout the book are many resources for self healing which in itself is a virtual bible. "Coming Home to Calm" elicited similiar powerful feelings I had while reading Richard Bach's "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet". God bless Donna Strong for "gifting" us with this spiritual handbook of how to live a more conscious, healthy, empowered, creative life as a human being. A one-stop read for seekers of the heart and spirit.

In "Coming Home to Calm" Donna Strong gently guides us through the stormy challenges of her life and shows each of us how to sort, clear and see the truth of who we really are. Like the beautifully carved, decorative wooden figurehead found at the prow of a ship, she has bravely outstretched her arms, and her life, fully for all to see the depth of her spirit and her faith. This amazing woman has held on sturdily through the turbulent waters and the harsh sea sprays that raw aliveness can bring. In her book, Donna eloquently shares how she was guided by an unseen force that led her safely through uncharted waters. Her story is profoundly potent and will help anchor those who read it to the understanding that despite the murky emotional waters that surround us, a spirit continues to shine brightly inside, like a lighthouse beam urging us forward in the momentum of our own evolutionary journey across the vast unknown. An exquisitely written book that made my heart sing, and search my soul. Donna is a poet whose work brings you deeply into the moment of which she was writing. Her words painted a beautiful story, like an artist on canvas.

I thoroughly enjoyed Donna's brave personal account of her spiritual search for unity with intelligent life as she experienced her transitional phase into full acceptance and appreciation of the potential of the divine in all of us. Not many of us would dare to share this deeply personal process as honestly as Donna does in "Coming home to calm". Reading her book often reads as a poetic symphonic celebration that affirms all that is good in being alive and being aware....and learning.

This book took me gently through life in its deeply interesting ups and downs to convey the profound wisdom of letting go and Being. The essence of Spirit and the flow of life in its beauty and perfection aligned with Source through all the seeming hurdles that come up in life has been so eloquently been expressed by Donna!
