If I do say so myself. Nov 24, 2009
By James Heath Coming to Confusion is a good book for young adults who think that reading is boring. For years Coming to Confusion was given to Senior English classes in the high school where I taught. (I was not the teacher of those classes.) These students were, to put it kindly, not fond of reading. For Coming to Confusion, they made an exception. Perhaps because they recognized themselves in the book, or identified with the characters who struggled to do what they thought was right in the face of pressure to do what might otherwise have felt comfortable or safe or simply not complicated; or just enjoyed the pace of the story, they read it. And after they had, singly or in small groups, they would seek me out to let me know. They were tickled that a teacher in their school had written the book they read. While I, as the author, naturally feel that anyone of pretty much any age would enjoy the story, I know that high school students love it.
