Crailsheim Drive

Two young boys allow a grade school grudge to fester through their adolescent years. An incident during their last year of high school provokes one of the boys to challenge the other to a fight. The fight is witnessed by a group of friends as it becomes very brutal, leaving physical and emotional scars that they both carry far into adulthood. Mike, a superb athlete and vicious warrior, came from an upper middle class family where he had everything except an understanding of empathy and courage. Dennis, a gifted athlete and womanizer, came from a hardscrabble family where what he lacked in comforts and opportunity, he created with bravado and imaginings. Mike’s earlier battles with people become adult battles with memories and booze. Dennis’ life is marred by sticky repercussions of the old fight and an undue share of bad luck. Their adult lives are traveled on roads that will never meet--except for the circumstance of a high school reunion that changes them forever.

5Great first novel  Oct 03, 2009
By Wayne Faris "avid reader"
I really enjoyed this book. It builds slowly and the more you read, the harder it is to put down. Goes deep into the long-term effects of a single teen age incident. Well thought-out plot and believable characters. When you read the book you'll recognize people from your own teen years. I hope Geoff keeps writing.
