Teacher review Aug 01, 2007 I enjoyed this book as it was by an author who is from Liberia, West Africa which is where my father was born and lived until he was 14. The pictures were cute and the text was nice. I'll share it with my own kids one day, but not sure at the moment how I would use it in my classroom.
More positive imagery like this is needed in our culture! Jul 05, 2007 The author has done a wonderful job of systematically looking at the contributions that "browns" (or "persons of color" or whatever other politically correct word you want to use) have made to the world....and phrased it in a story form for the people who have the power to change the world and the future...our children. Many thanks for this effort!
Crazy About Browns May 27, 2007 Hi, I'm the author of "Crazy About Browns." The message of the books is how all shades of brown are beautiful. Browns are not only beautiful, They are intelligent, smart, inventors, entrepreneurs, scientists, homemakers, and parents. Our skin color, although beautiful does not determine who we become in life. We are the sole drivers of our future and should not let others define who we are or our destiny.
