"Crushed but not Forsaken" Apr 21, 2010
By L. Motcheck "Crushed but not Forsake", having lived to prove the truths set forth in this wonderful work, I can attest to its accuracy and and to the need for it in the lives of those who because of loss question "Where is God?". This wonderful book shows you how to find strength for those times when you feel crushed and forsaken. I might add, any one serving in grief ministries could use this book as a great tool for those they counsel, I know I would have found it a great help all those years ago. It is well written, and compassionately presented and well worth the time studying. Best of all it is grounded in the Word of God and carries His promises to those who need to know they may be "Crushed but (they are) not Forsaken". Linda Motcheck

Crushed but not Forsaken: God's Promises to the Widow, the Fatherless, and the Hurting
"Crushed but not Forsaken" is an indepth look at God's love, provision and concern for those who are hurting, with particular emphasis on widows and the fatherless. Before reading this book, I knew that God cared about people in such situations, but after reading this book and answering the questions at the end of each chapter, I became aware about how deeply God cared for these people in need. I was overwhelmed with renewed confidence that God himself was always intimately concerned with my well being through all my struggles. Having grown up with out a father, I was able to look back through my own life and actually see how God had provided for me for all those years without me ever knowing any of these precious promises. I also gave this book to a dear widow friend, who desperately missed her husband, and deceased son. She daily struggles with fears concerning finances, lonliness and what her future holds. She devoured the book in 3 days, rejoicing in the new found confidence that God was especially concerned for her SPECIFIC situation and had promised to care for her specific needs. This book is set up so that it can be used as a daily and or weekly devotional and has questions after each chapter that allow one to reflect deeply on the particular promise. Dr. White is quickly becoming my favorite author. His books are focused, straight to the point and very useful in daily life.
