Thoroughly enjoyable read! Mar 19, 2010
By Elaine F. Boutin Thoroughly enjoyable read! The combination of sports related stories is so entertaining and fast moving. My favorites were "Scrabble Date", "Curse? There Ain't No Stinking Chicago Cub Curse" and "Gambling 101". The authors have an ability to capture your interest and hold it to the end of each story. Impressive writing talent was so enjoyable.
Also the male and female aspects of "sports" is a good contrast and combination.

From the beginning story to the end, the stories place you in the mindset of variety of sport figures. Some of the stories have wonderful unexpected conclusion and bring life surprises through an enjoyable script. The stories develop a variety in emotion and involvement. Written with excellent prose and deep understanding. I would highly recommend this book to be in the collection of sports enthusiast.

Ain't No Curse! Feb 24, 2010
By Die-Hard Cubs Fan In the lead story of this collection about winners and losers, James Wolfe slams one out of the ballpark. The writing team of Wolfe and Presman exposes the games-people-play in story after story. My favorite: "If Profanity Improved the Golf Game." No doubt about it: Luck ain't no Lady!

From the "tippy top" title down to it's "toes", this book is delightful for any reader! Each short story develops emotional and aesthetic qualities in a spirited dimensional way. Catch a glimpse of yourself or someone you know in this collection of stories about people in sporting circumstances.
Not just about guys and sports Feb 15, 2010

This is a wonderful book of short stories about gamesmanship. When I first saw it, I thought it was a guys book about sports. But as a women, I loved the story about scrabble dating and a very funny story on a family backyard bocce ball game. The stories are written by a male author and a female author. While I really enjoyed the chick stories, the stories written by the guy gave me a better insight into guys and sports. This is a nice, funny, well-written book. I bought several for the many Cubs fans I know.
