This book was the hardest of the Shandahar series to read so far and the first two were pretty bad. The editing was terrible with an entire paragraph duplicated. The story was engaging, but the characters were stupid. They were obvious copies of their parents from the previous stories, to the point where it would have been better to just continue the story using the parent characters who were already set up. I was livid when I finished this book only to discover there is a fourth that I will have to suffer through to finish the series. I think I'll just live never knowing what happened to the characters. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
