Death on Coffin Island

First in a series, Death on Coffin Island: A Folly Beach Mystery is a witty tale of intrigue and innuendo. Debut author Michele Nutwell plays favorites with a cast of colorful seafaring locals and a bevy of beautiful blonde look-alikes which serves as a key to a murderous mystery. When a journalist in the sleepy Southern coastal town of Folly Beach finds a dead surfer girl, the bedlam begins and the bodies keep piling up in this whodunit of comedy noir at its best.

5Love this book!  Apr 20, 2009
I completely enjoyed this book from the first; Kell, the main character, is strong, sassy and just my type of gal!

The story is interesting and keeps you reading. I read the book for the atmosphere and the characters. This has it all and I recommend it to those who are tired of insipid, silly female heros. This heroine is worth the read and will leave you wanting more of her kind.

4Fun holiday and vacation reading  Jun 19, 2007
This was just a very very fun book to read. It moves fast has a good sense of local culture surrounding the Charleston, SC beach scene and it is an intrigueing mystery besides. The author develops the characters with a flair particularly the heroin who is lively, vivacious and smart. All you could want in a whodunit. I recommend this book highly for those who want to just relax and enjoy a good story. Can't wait for the next one!
