Desperate Threads is 3-Dimensional Roller Coaster of a Ride Mar 19, 2010
By Eric G. Meeks
"Author of The Author Murders"
Mark Morrell hit the nail on the head when he titled this collection of short stories Desperate Threads. Each story is a poignant reminder of the atrocities in life (and death) that create our own personal thrilling moments.
In his first story: Execution of a Suicide, Morrell determines to juxtapose what seems to be an obvious cry for help from an impetuous college student. The unexpected turn of events at the end stampede an inescapable plot advantage into a page burner of a short story.
You'll stay awake at night reading on and on.
My personal favorite was: Auction of the Man in Black. A moment to moment joy where Morrell gets to transfer his understanding of musical elements into Bard like written prose. And it's a great timepiece for those seeking a remembrance of yesteryear's ne'er to return and heroes long dead.
Get this book. Buy it now. And read it. You'll end up emailing Mark Morrell and thanking him. I see a career ahead caught in an upward spiral of FEMA like proportions, all beginning from the humble revealings of Mark Morrell's Desperate Threads.
