This little book is meant to be a supplement for language arts students and teachers in their study of American English meanings and spelling. Subjects include: dictionary use; syllables; etymology; and Latin and Greek prefixes and roots - with discussion of the bond between American English and the Romance languages (Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian). The author finds spelling to be 'a lively, interesting subject!' She has written this little book with love, remembering how much she enjoyed teaching.
