A true work of art Dec 21, 2008
By Alex Allred
"A weird mom"
Fantastic rhyming story with amazing artwork. This is a beautiful book on all kinds of levels.
My daughter loves it and so do her dad and I. You'll cheer for the yetis on their adventure and find out the answer once and for all if narwhals have blowholes.
Smart, funny and weird, weird wonderfully weird.

Smart and Funny! Dec 07, 2008
By David Wahl Books for kids can be so boring!
In fact, most books for kids are designed to turn them into good little automatons that just parrot back simple lessons and black and white morality. Yawn.
This book joins the ranks of works by such geniuses as Daniel Pinkwater and Roald Dahl. Authors that present the world as a fun place, full of amazing things and boundless imagination, but tinged with sly humor and layers of wit. Sure, your child may not know every word in this book, never a bad thing, but they'll be laughing at the jokes and clever rhymes anyway.
The art is beautiful as well. It uses different materials and textures to create a world as full of boundless energy as the story it tells. The character designs are wonderful and expressive, but simple enough that your kids will be drawing the two Yetis, Edgar and Fast Freddy, into every masterpiece they create.
Not that every parent will enjoy this - the humorless and lazy need not apply.

Yetis, Narwhals, And Lemmings, Oh My! Dec 11, 2011
By Robert I. Hedges "Do Narwhals Have Blowholes?" is a uniquely creative children's book that should amuse kids and adults alike. It's informative in that it does answer the titular question, but its charms are mostly in the odd storyline that takes several peculiar turns, including a whopper involving lemmings of all things! Creativity manifests itself throughout in the numerous ways, especially the decision to write the story from the vantage point of a yeti (!) and the clever use of perfectly suited fabrics as backgrounds and to accentuate the action.
If you are reading to a bright and creative child with a budding absurdist sense of humor (or they are reading it themselves,) this is a great book, and I recommend it without reservation.

Wonderful!! Feb 02, 2009
By A Teacher I am a teacher in a first/second combination classroom. I got this book for the kids and they absolutely love it! The story is whimsical, clever, and humorous, the rhyming fun, and the pictures have a unique and special appeal. The kids have asked me to read it over and over again! It has been quite a hit in my classroom and I would highly recommend this delightful book!
Fun Reading & Beautifully Illustrated! Sep 13, 2011
By Mom of Many Boys I have five boys and they all have loved this book (ages 2-9 yrs). The rhyming is fun to read (good for mom!) and the art keeps my visual kids very drawn in. I love a book that makes a kid take a step up and use his brain too. The writing is clever as well as the art. I highly recommend it!
