As a preschool teacher, I'm a demanding customer when it comes to picture books for my class: they need to use language in new and interesting ways, have compelling illustrations that encourage repeated examination, and tell a story that helps young children make increased sense of their world. This book does it all with a story about family, friendship, and forgiveness that children and adults will enjoy again and again, and it does it with humor, which is even better!!

There are many books in my children's library that elicit a groan in me when they choose them during our nightly story reading, but "Don't Judge A Frog By Its Mother" certainly isn't one of them. From the hilarious tall-tale to the fabulously detailed drawings, each time we read this book we find something new to discuss. I know this book will be on the favorite list for a very long time for the entire family.
