Double-Edged Justice

Three months have passed since Howie Farber last saw Samantha Caulfield, his best friend's daughter, and he identifies an article of clothing that belongs to her outside a tavern in Georgia. Somewhere inside, the kidnapper roams free, waiting to be caught. It doesn't take long for Howie to find the Hispanic man and to start a dialogue with Juan Estonches. Before the sun rises the next day, Juan finds himself in an unimaginable situation; Howie and the father of the missing child are there to interrogate him before they involve the authorities. The police become aware of the situation from a different perspective. When the wife of the kidnapper reports her husband missing, police initiate a search for a man they assume is the victim of a hate crime. Before they discover the truth, police officials, concerned wives and an accomplice will require the father and three friends to make decisions that run counter to everything they have set out to accomplish.

5A Great Read!  Aug 13, 2007
By K. Aiken
I had Double-Edged Justice as my travel companion on a flight from Prague to New York, and it couldn't have worked out any better. Not only did it make the flight go by in a flash, but I know it's not the kind of book I would've wanted to put down. Smith weaves a great story, with some unexpected turns throughout. Not only is this a fun read, though, but you certainly find yourself thinking..."What would I do if it were MY daughter." I'll look forward to his next novel.

4Intiguing New Read  Aug 10, 2007

I enjoyed this fast paced new novel. The plot is very well crafted, with alot of twists and turns. I could definitely see this novel being made into a major motion picture.

4Smith hits it out of the park with his debut!  Aug 07, 2007
By Travis M. Gainsley "Steamboat Magazine"
Kendall Smith has done an amazing job with his first book. Double-Edged Justice will keep you turning pages with all of its twists and turns.

He's done an excellent job with his attention to detail and character development. You will soon find yourself rooting for the good guys....or are they actually the bad guys?

I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did, great job Mr. Smith!

Thanks for reading - Travis
