Excellent Book Dec 15, 2008 Have you ever wondered what swimming the channel would be like and what type of preparation was necessary for such a swim. Well wonder no more.
This is a well written, very easy to read book. The author does not get bogged down in describing in intimate detail her workouts or the tiny details of this or that. She paints with a broad brush when it comes to the more mundane day in and day out hours and hours of training. But brings in to sharp focus the true hurdles and milestones of this endeavour.
If you're not interested in swimming this book probably isn't going to leap off the shelf for you but I'd recommend it to anyone who's ever tried swimming a few laps.
