Don't get suckered like I did!! May 29, 2011

This book is terrible and is not what it claims to be. It has NOTHING to do with shamanism. This book was self-published by the author by the way and is in SERIOUS need of an editor. The narrative does not even flow smoothly. His pedigree consists of people I have never heard of (except his glowing review of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" how sad is that??) or self-taught certificates from correspondence courses. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I could not believe this book had 12 five star reviews until I investigated the reviewers, One review is by the author himself. Of the remaining 11 only one reviewer seems to be real while the other 10 seem to be plants since they only use one name review markers and low and behold, this is the only book they any of them have ever reviewed. If you consider buying this book, just take your $15 and throw it in your recycle bin because that's where mine ended up. This book is so bad and so falsely advertised, I could not even bring myself to donate it or pass it along to my worst enemy and recycled it instead!! If I could have given this book negative stars I would have considering the tampering of the review ratings someone connected to this guy perpetrated!!!

Don't know/rather fishy May 26, 2011

I clicked the first 6 reviewers other reviews and none of them wrote any other reviews. This is usually a sign of deception, "creating reviews" that praise the author and book etc. It is so rampant on Amazon right now I check out the other reviews whenever I see 5 start reviews for an item, which makes me rather sad that I have to, especially for spiritual and healing books. Deceit is built so into our culture right now we don't even recognize it anymore..we simply call it "marketing" or something like that and after all everyone does it and the end, blah, blah...

Stepping into Joy and embracing the Dreamer in us all Mar 28, 2011
By Alice Jon provides a reminder that in the Western world we are returning to remembering the shaman's original intent of living in joy, power and freedom. He discusses ways we can step into our shaman self by providing practical and pragmatic exercises, timely weaving of personal and supplemental stories to make his point, and displaying insights from other spiritual teachings, such as Esther and Jerry Hicks of "Ask and It is Given." He always embodies a love-centered generosity in imparting lessons we can learn and tools we can adopt through his book, his shaman sessions, and his being. He explores the human depth of emotion and reminds us that fear is only the blocking of Source, and we are free to change our beliefs. As he sees the purpose of life as feeling good and experiencing life's contrasts, it made me want to read more about how to hone in on that good feeling. Jon challenges us and his clients to ask "What would you do if you had no limitations?", which is such a powerful way to perceive life, to live life. What if we all lived without limitations, what if we could create a new world cultivating love, joy, freedom and could spend more time enjoying it all? Jon's book provides ways to do just that. "Dreaming Your World into Being" is a great read at any point on life's journey and it makes a wonderful gift for people asking for "what is possible in life?" or "How can I create the life I want?" As Jon's Q'ero teachers talk about using the gifts and abilities we have and "growing corn with them," Jon's field is resplendent with a rich, lovingly tended crop of corn to share with the world. May you enjoy the book as much as I have, and may its lessons and tools impact you in a way that moves you, that stirs the dreamer within.
An inspirational read Dec 20, 2011
By M. Chookolingo I'm 3/4 way through the book, and although I may not agree with everything he says in the book, I would say that the core concepts and gems of information outweigh the intensity and explanations of some aspects of life and Creation. What I love most about the book, and what was an indication for me that Jon Rasmussen was the real deal was that at the beginning of the book he encourages everyone to not take everything he says as the 'Ultimate Truth.' He empowers you to find your own truth, and offers his book with his stories and wisdom to serve as a guide and nothing else on your path to self-discovery. This alone is what practically sold the book to me, as I get turned off immediately from people/institutions and religions who like to say that their way is the best, only and/or fastest way to self-realization. If you can heed his 'disclaimer' and recognize the loving place it comes from, it will allow your heart and mind to open up and receive the deeper knowledge.
