Dreams for Sale: Poems and Lyrics

Poetry that Sings: In "Dreams for Sale", Jo Anne Kurman offers up a feast of lyrical poems to feed your senses, nurture your heart, and delight your soul. Evocative illustrations by artist Chris Davies add the finishing touch. “God has gifted Jo Anne with the rare talent of capturing the immensity of human experience we all share, without wasting a word. It’s impossible for me to read Jo Anne’s poetry without being transported to my own private moments of longing and love. Prepare to be moved and reminded of what binds us together through her vivid imagery bursting with emotional authenticity,” says New York Times bestselling writer Carmen Renee Berry ("Girlfriends: Invisible Bonds, Enduring Ties"). Jordan Paul, bestselling coauthor of "Do I Have to Give Up Me to Be Loved by You?" and author of "Becoming Your Own Hero" adds: “I love to be touched. Jo Anne Kurman beautifully fulfills this desire in "Dreams for Sale". Her poems make me feel joyful, hopeful, alive, and real.”

5Poetry that takes you on a vivid and unforgettable journey  Jan 26, 2010
By L. Siegel
A profoundly honest collection of vivid poems that are genuine pearls of wisdom. Kurman's richly textured mini-stories take us on an unforgettable journey through the many seasons of life. This treasury sits on my nightstand where I can return to it for continued insight and encouragement.

Highly recommended. Gripping and powerful, these timeless truths were meant to be shared and appreciated.

5A Different Kind of Dream Merchant  Dec 07, 2009
By Richard Van Slyke "Broadcaster"
The word pictures she has painted, especially in the pieces dealing with
performing in public, remind me of Kris Kristoferson. I hear echoes of Janis
Ian in The Plagiarist and Forgives You and maybe a touch of K.T. Oslin in
Hometown Beauty Queen. The pieces range from simple and light-hearted to
intensely emotional and purgative. But the over-arching connectivity of the
work and its accesibility to a braod spectrum of readers is her
transparency and vulnerability. She touches on her relationship with God
without preaching. She admits to failed relationships without bludgeoning us
with the gory details. And she holds on to hope, with realistic expectations.
Maybe, just maybe, not all of her dreams are for sale.

5The gift of poetry  Nov 09, 2009
By Nancy C
A beautiful and inspiring collection of heartfelt poetry and art. Jo Anne's poetic talents match her soulful singing voice (I have a few of her CDs too). Lovingly crafted, this book makes a great gift!
