Dreams of Babylon

Tracy Crenshaw had expected a leisurely vacation, cruising the Mediterranean with her young son. Then the terrorists struck, taking them hostage and fleeing with them into the vast deserts of the Middle East. But the terrorists had made a big mistake. Not only would they regret bringing her into their midst, but her son's father was closing fast on them. And he was more than a match for the terrorists.

If you like action, adventure and a terrific plot presented through strong characters and top-notch dialog, then you'll like this novel. The lead character, Tracy Crenshaw, is so vivid and realistic you feel like you know her, or at least want to know her. The other cast members are just as colorful and belivable and play their roles very well. The setting is so perfectly drawn that at times I felt that I was actually traveling through the Middle East. What a display of storytelling this pair of writers performed. Definitely a five-star pick.

5Fearless Woman  Jun 04, 2004

If you like reading stories that have a strong central female character then this book has that in spades. The writing flows too, as seductively as the protagonist, one Tracy Crenshaw. In particular, the descriptions of characters and settings are done with a flair that reminds me of a really good Trevanian novel like "The Summer of Katya". The plot builds steadily and the ending does not let you down. It slams you hard. I can't wait for this writing team to come out with their next novel.

4Scary But Fun  Mar 13, 2004

Reading this novel increased my heart-rate like a good work-out. The authors used situations, events, characters and dialog to set a fast-paced tone that kept the pages turning. Many of the chapters were almost poetic and evoked feelings of pity and anguish and sometimes disgust all at once. It's a well written and interesting story and I'm happy that I read and enjoyed it.
