Excellent guide for all physicians Sep 24, 2008
By Deborah A. Borek As transfusion medicine becomes more complex, it is impossible for clinicians, or even clinical pathologists, to keep abreast of the indications, risks, and expected benefits of blood transfusion. This manual is indispensable for all physicians who prescribe transfusions, for physicians in training, and for pathologists and pathology residents taking call for the Blood Bank. Dr. Plapp's excellent and concise guide deserves a place in the lab coat pocket of all physicians; it will be consulted frequently.

Dunno what I was expecting Sep 20, 2009
By Lisa M The publisher's description mentioned the book was pocket-sized, and a pocket-sized book by definition can't cover immunohematology and blood banking in depth. This book is probably meant more for interns and residents than laboratory personnel.

A Must-Have For All Transfusion Services! Sep 29, 2008
By Laurie A. Meyer I recommend this book as a thorough reference for all transfusion services and for reference labs offering consultation services to area blood banks. Fabulous!
Good all-around book Feb 05, 2012
By Information hound This book is the one kept in the car and at the side of the bed when I'm on call. That should say it all.
